I love comedy, transmedia storytelling, and adaptations that make the old new. No matter the medium, my first priority is cultivating a tangible connection between audience and story.
So far, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to a number of compelling, challenging projects. Here are a few of my favorites!
With the University of Maryland’s iSchool, I’ve worked as a narrative designer and creative writer for educational alternate reality games, sponsored by the National Science Foundation: The Arcane Gallery of Gadgetry, and most recently, The Tessera (an Official Selection of IndieCade Games Festival 2017).
Plays include Romeo & Juliet: Choose Your Own Ending (2010 winner of Best Comedy and Best Overall Show at Capital Fringe), published by Playscripts. R&J:CYOE has been performed throughout the United States, including at FringeNYC in 2011, and in Canada. Other performed full lengths and shorts have been produced, developed, and/or commissioned by DC-area companies including The Impressionable Players, Pointless Theatre Co., Pinky Swear Productions, and Rorschach Theatre—and overseas as a finalist in the London Horror Festival’s playwriting competition.
In my capacity as a playwright, I’m proud to serve as an Ambassador to the Dramatists Guild and as an originating producer for the annual “New Play Workshop” for student playwrights in the department of Theatre, Dance, & Performance Studies at my alma mater, the University of Maryland.
I’m currently seeking representation for my newest project, Olive McKnight: Professional Exorcist.
When not engrossed in fictional worlds on my laptop, I act on stages in the DC-area and even venture outdoors. Other loves include reading, cooking and baking, and drinking as much tea as possible. I live in Maryland with my husband and our ever adorable cats, Ollie and Sophie.
